Home Action Buttons
Home Action ButtonsHome Action Buttons are the row of buttons with icons on your home page that take visitors straight to common tasks, such as paying a bill or applying for a permit. Each button is a short item with a title, a link and an icon.
Add a Button
Go to Content → Add content → Home Action Buttons, then fill in:
- Title – the button’s text. Keep it to one to three words, such as “Pay a Bill”.
- Link – where the button goes. Start typing the title of a page on your site and pick it from the list, or paste a full address that starts with https://.
- Select a target – leave it at None so the link opens in the same window. Choose New window only for another website, if needed.
- Icon – type a word that describes the task, such as “receipt”, “calendar” or “map”, and pick an icon from the list.

Leave Published turned on at the top of the form, then select Save. The button appears on your home page.
After saving, check the button on your home page. If its icon doesn’t appear, edit the button and choose a different icon.
Change the Order
Buttons appear on the home page in the order you set. Go to Content → Home Action Buttons Management.

Drag a button by the handle on the left of its row, then select Save order.

If you prefer not to drag, select Show row weights above the list and choose a number for each row instead (lower numbers come first).
Edit or Remove a Button
On the Home Action Buttons Management page, select Edit in the button’s row. To hide a button for now, turn off Published and save. To remove it for good, select the arrow beside Edit, then Delete.
Tips
- Use the buttons for the tasks visitors look for most. A short row is easier to scan than a long one.
- Choose an icon that matches the task. The icon is decorative; the title is what visitors and screen readers read.
- Check each button’s link after saving.
