Every time a page is saved, your website keeps a copy of that version, called a revision. You can see who changed a page and when, and put back an earlier version if a change was a mistake.

Describe Your Change

Before saving, you can add a note in Revision log message, under Details in the sidebar, such as “Updated summer hours”. The note shows in the list of revisions, which makes the right version easy to find later.

The Details panel with a Revision log message filled in.

See Earlier Versions

Open the page and select the Revisions tab. Each row is one saved version, with the date, the person who saved it and their note. The version visitors see is marked Current revision.

The Revisions list, with the current revision at the top and a Revert button highlighted on an earlier one.

Select the date of a revision to see that version of the page.

Put Back an Earlier Version

On the Revisions tab, select Revert in the row of the version you want, then confirm with Revert.

The confirmation page asking whether to revert to the revision, with Revert and Cancel buttons.

Reverting doesn’t delete anything: it saves the earlier version as a new revision at the top of the list, so you can undo it the same way.

Tips

  • Add a short revision note whenever you make a change worth finding later.
  • Check the page after reverting. If it had a draft waiting, open the Revisions tab again to see what’s current.
